Environmental Activities and Educational Center

The Environmental Activities and Educational Center is devided into two parts, the lower part called the Mseilha Terminal with its outdoor auditorium, as long as the upper part called the Hamat Terminal which is the actucal educational center as well as a small luxurious Hotel hanging along the cliff.

The Environmental Activities and Educational Center was created with the need of reviving the historical Mseilha Fort by creating a touristic infrastructure that is totally abscent in a cite where the mseilha fort, the mselha walkway, the mseilha dam, and the cap of hamat (saint Elias historical church) are all present but lack a connection that is crucial for tourists to be able to enjoy the full experience.

The main strategy was to expand this journey from summit to shore, as a hiker myself i walways enjoyed hiking along the nahr el jawz valley, leading to the mseilha fort, but i always wanted to go further and try to reach the sea. The touristic infrastructre wasn't available and that's how the project took it shape, a much needed architecture that can define the past and reshape our present.

This project was destinguished by members of the jury for its unique shape, the choice of the site and the ability to convert a previous quarry into a new functioning architecture. This was shown in both the physical and digital models.
